 Consultation on the BCVMC General Order

As part of the BC Vegetable Marketing Commission’s effort to modernize its General Order, a Task Force was created to review and recommend possible amendments to the following areas:

  1. 1. Licensing – Types / Categories / Applications / Renewals
  2. 2. Licensing – Exemptions / Food Safety / Sanctions
  3. 3. Delivery Allocation
  4. 4. Production Allocation
  5. 5. Agency Reporting and Fees

 

The Task Force made 27 recommendations for amendments or process improvements to these sections of the General Order which were accepted by the Commission. For the Task Force report and other materials on the proposed changes to the General Order please see the Resources links on this page.

 

Town Hall meetings were held in each region on the following dates:

  • Thursday October 23rd: Vancouver Island (Nanaimo)
  • Tuesday October 28th: Lower Mainland West (Delta)
  • Thursday October 30th: Lower Mainland East (Abbotsford)
  • Friday November 7th: Interior (Kelowna).

 

As a next step, the Commission will be collecting written submissions from industry stakeholders. If you have any additional comments, concerns, or suggestions, we invite you to submit them to info@bcveg.com by Friday, November 21st.
