Industry Consultation

Upcoming Consultation on the BCVMC General Order

As part of the BC Vegetable Marketing Commission’s effort to modernize its General Order, a Task Force was created to review and recommend possible amendments to the following areas:

  1. 1. Licensing – Types / Categories / Applications / Renewals
  2. 2. Licensing – Exemptions / Food Safety / Sanctions
  3. 3. Delivery Allocation
  4. 4. Production Allocation
  5. 5. Agency Reporting and Fees

The Task Force made 27 recommendations for amendments or process improvements to these sections of the General Order which were accepted by the Commission. For the Task Force report and other materials on the proposed changes to the General Order please see the Resources links on this page.

We are planning several meetings with industry associations and agencies as well as Town Hall meetings where we can gather feedback on the recommendations. There will also be an opportunity for stakeholders to provide the Commission with written submissions on the proposed changes.
